Love Poetry Workshop: Writing from the Heart

February 7, 2026 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm PST

This workshop invites poets and dreamers of all backgrounds to explore the many dimensions of love through poetry. Participants will read and discuss works that celebrate love in its diverse forms—romantic, familial, self-love, community, and beyond—while developing their own authentic voice. Through guided writing exercises, creative prompts, and group sharing, the class fosters a supportive space for imagination and connection. No prior writing experience is required; only an open heart and a willingness to express it in words.

Facilitator:
Theresa Henson is a poet, sculptor, and pianist whose work explores the intersections of sound, form, and language. A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she earned her MFA, Henson’s practice bridges disciplines to evoke the rhythms of landscape and memory. Her poetry often mirrors the tactile qualities of her sculptural work, while her compositions draw inspiration from natural patterns and silence. She lives and works in the Clearwater Valley, Idaho, where the surrounding wilderness continues to shape her creative vision. She is a co-founder of River Arts.

Open to anyone with a heart for writing.

Please RSVP. If your plans change after registering, please let us know if you cannot attend so we may offer the space to another. The class is free and you will also have an option to make a donation to support continued free arts programming for Kamiah and beyond. You can bypass this option by just hitting “Continue”. You will be able to put in the names of everyone in your group and you will also receive email confirmation of your registration and event reminders.

Please be on time. We look forward to seeing you in the studio!
