SUMMARY:Artist's Way Group / Sanity Journaling
DESCRIPTION:This is an ongoing group that meets every two weeks 1-3 p.m. Saturdays. \nTogether\, we explore The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron\, a program designed to help people overcome creative blocks and reconnect with their inner artist through a series of readings\, exercises\, and tools like “Morning Pages” (three pages of stream-of-consciousness writing) and “Artist Dates” (solo creative outings). \nWe also explore self-expression through Sanity Journaling\, a creative practice developed and refined by Alina Bettancourt over many years. This class invites participants to explore their inner world through artful journaling—combining words\, images\, and color to create a deeply personal reflection of life\, dreams\, and emotions. \nThere is no right or wrong way to do this. Each page becomes a space for authenticity\, play\, and self-discovery. Whether the process feels lighthearted or profound\, every mark and collage piece contributes to a unique story—your own. \nParticipants will experiment with a variety of materials\, including magazine cut-outs\, paint\, markers\, pencils\, and pens. The journal can hold affirmations\, meaningful quotes\, personal insights\, memories\, or simply serve as a creative playground for new artistic techniques. \nThis is a space free of judgment and full of encouragement. The goal is to honor individuality\, embrace imperfection\, and celebrate the beauty of self-expression. \nBring your curiosity\, your imagination\, and your heart! \n\nSUPPLIES\nAlso bring your journal! We recommend this 8.5 x 11 blank page sketchbook.\nWe also recommend getting a copy of The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. You can order a used copy from Ebay or Amazon for about $5.\n\nAlina Bettancourt is a lover of creating beauty in the world through art. She enjoys creating with different media\, and her favorite is loose watercolor painting. She is a retired marriage-family therapist (MFT)\, a physical fitness trainer\, developer of BIW (a meditative exercise program)\, and recently is a certified Primal Reflex Release Technique practitioner (PRRT). Alina is a mother of 6 grown kids and 13 grandchildren. She lives a quiet cabin life in Clearwater\, Idaho\, fully enjoying many winter hours of guilt-free painting.

SUMMARY:Kamiah Concerts in the Park: Tylor and the Train Robbers
DESCRIPTION:For the past decade\, Tylor & the Train Robbers have been blazing trails\, carving a path through the heartland with their roots country and Americana music. With boots worn thin from relentless touring\, they’ve crisscrossed the country\, honing their craft and delivering electrifying performances\, leaving a trail of devoted fans in their wake. \nBrothers Tylor Ketchum\, Jason Bushman\, and Tommy Bushman form the core of this musical powerhouse. Tylor\, the eldest\, takes the reins as the band’s frontman\, rhythm guitarist\, and songwriter\, weaving stories through his lyrics.  \n“Ketchum has a voice laced with the same western gravelly baritones that tend to stand out as “Western” but his approach is decidedly more rock than country\, and his delivery still touches on poetic.” – Josh Crutchmer  \nJason\, on bass and backup harmonies\, and Tommy\, on drums and vocals\, provide the steady heartbeat and backbone that defines the band’s signature sound. Antonio Vazquez’s Electric Guitar chops add layers of depth and emotion to their music. Rounding out the Bands sound\, Antonio Vazquez melds it all together with his melodically proficient Lead Guitar style. \n“Perhaps no band combines what Western roots music has always been and what it will become quite like the Train Robbers. It is this combination of tradition and fresh take that makes them a must-listen.” – Josh Crutchmer \nNow\, as the band gears up for their latest release\, Hum of the Road\, the excitement among their devoted fanbase is palpable. Recorded amidst the dust and heat of a Southern tour\, this album is more than just a collection of songs—it’s a sonic odyssey that captures the essence of the open road and the soul of the American musical landscape. \nPlus art activities and food vendors. \n
